Persistent pelvic pain (PPP), including endometriosis
Persistent pelvic pain (PPP) effects 15% of those with a uterus worldwide and is the most common cause of days off work for people of child-bearing age. It is a complex problem that requires careful management. Dr Laura is at the forefront of GP led management of pelvic pain. She has developed a holistic and effective model of care, individualised to your needs. Laura is motivated to provide you with the tools you require to get on top of your pelvic pain. Laura curates and leads bespoke teams of care provider’s both allied and specialist, to provide you with tailored, whole-person care.
Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB)
HMB commonly interferes with a person's physical, emotional, social and material quality of life. Australia has a high incidence of hysterectomy for HMB compared with other developed countries. Laura is committed to evidence-based practice, and improving quality and timely care of those experiencing HMB. Dr Laura was a member of the HMB Expert Working Group with Safer Care Victoria in 2022.
Infertility & Miscarriage
Pregnancy associated problems are often distressing and impact every person differently. Through further studies, conferences and previous roles at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Laura can competently and compassionately help.
Unplanned Pregnancy
It is estimated that around a quarter of all pregnancies in Australia are unplanned. More than half of women who have an unplanned pregnancy were using at least one form of contraception at the time. Having an unplanned pregnancy can be a stressful life experience that requires careful consideration. Laura delivers empathetic care and support to assist you understanding options to make an informed decision.
Menopause
Dr Laura appreciates the need for holistic support through this potentially difficult life-stage. 1/3 of women experience menopausal symptoms and of these 1/3 have disabling symptoms. Women’s healthcare needs can change at this often challenging time and Laura understand this.
Incontinence & Prolapse
Laura draws on experience from time spent in a hospital-based multi-disciplinary team managing incontinence and prolapse. This is an area that is often ignored but at the expensive of quality of life. Laura can get you up and running, particularly helpful if you are on a long waitlist for public hospital management. She is trained in vaginal pessary care and can teach you how to use a pessary to suits your needs and reduce symptoms.
